The area has layer upon layer of history, an archaeological park, at the foot of the lagoon – a rare Byzantine church , liksom Pashaleman flottbas där ryssarna höll sina ubåtar under Hoxha regimen.
The area has some wonderful walks.
Du kan enkelt nå Orikum nu vägarna förbättras.
It is a fascinating 2 timmars bil eller bussresa från huvudstaden Tirana (BA have regular flights ) eller i särklass mest intressanta är den spektakulära kustvägen från Saranda .
Du kan ta en billig easyjet till Korfu för ett par dagar sedan fånga färjan över de albanska sunden till bussen från Saranda, det tar bara 45 minutes across the water.
Det finns också en daglig natten färja från Brindisi till Vlore som bara en halv timmes bilresa från Orikum.
